Review: How Much Is A Disney MagicBand? (Worth The Money?)

Disney MagicBand Cost: The Disney MagicBand+ is a new and improved version of the classic MagicBand that has been used by Walt Disney World Resort guests for years.

The new features of the MagicBand+ include LED lights, vibrations, and gesture recognition that make it even more interactive and immersive.

The haptic technology in the wristband allows guests to feel when they are close to a statue, and pixie dust can be spread by waving their hands quickly.

And moreover, the magicband+ comes with gesture recognition technology. So, if you are near any target that you need to collect, the MagicBand+ will pulse green.

Also, if you are getting further away from the target, it will glow red. But once you have located your bounty, it will turn purple.

This is an amazing feature, especially for those who are playing the Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters game at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Reviews of the MagicBand+ have been overwhelmingly positive, with guests praising its convenience and interactive features.

If you are planning a trip to Disney World, be sure to pick up a MagicBand+ to make your experience even more magical!

The MagicBand+ is a newer version of Disney’s MagicBand, which has been around since 2013. So, if you’re looking for an update to the MagicBand, the MagicBand+ is a good option.

Overall, the price of the MagicBand+ is reasonable, especially considering the added features.

MagicBand 2 Cost Vs MagicBand+ Cost

One of the main differences between MagicBand+ and MagicBand 2 is their cost. The price difference between the two is $15.

In the upcoming months of the 2022 season, you can purchase MagicBand+ at Disneyland Resort at around $34.99 the same as you will pay at the Walt Disney World Resort.

However, the pricing is not yet confirmed but the official store of Disney – shopdisney.com sells MagicBand+ at this rate.

If you choose a special design like, for example, the Disney Pride Collection MagicBand+, the price you’ll need to pay will go up to $44.99.

As of now, the costliest Magic Band you can buy is the Main Street Electrical Parade 50th Anniversary MagicBand 2 by Dooney Bourke which is a limited edition device that is priced at $58 whereas the cheapest Disney Magic Band available is Disney Park MagicBand 2 (Any Color) that costs you $19.99.

Currently, some Magic Bands are being sold at a discounted rate of $19.98!

Why Doesn’t Disneyland Have Magic Bands?

The actual reason why Disney hasn’t introduced specific magic bands for Disneyland is not known. But, however, at the previous D23 Expo, it was announced that MagicBands will be coming to Disneyland in 2022.

As of now (July 2022), you can buy MagicBand+ only at the Walt Disney World Resort. In my opinion, by the next Destination D23 Expo (September 9 to 11), Disney will start selling Magic Bands designed for Disneyland.

But, what I can say is that the MagicBand+ that is intended for use at Disneyland may not be able to use at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Or Disney might have plans for bringing an all-new MagicBand+ that works at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.

MagicBand Plus Features

The MagicBand+ is everything that was great about the original MagicBand, with some added features that are sure to make your Disney vacation even more magical.

The first and the best advantage of the MagicBand+ is that it can unlock enchanting interactions throughout Walt Disney World Resort.

With the band’s cutting-edge technology, you can enjoy a more immersive and interactive experience with your favorite characters. The possibilities are endless!

Let’s take a look at what the new MagicBand+ can do:

MagicBand+ Is Rechargeable

The second advantage of the MagicBand+ is that it has a rechargeable battery. This means that you don’t have to keep buying new batteries, and you can just recharge it when it starts to run low.

This is not only more convenient, but it’s also more environmentally friendly.

Waterproof Technology

The third advantage of the MagicBand+ is that it is waterproof for pools and water rides. This means that you can take it with you on all of your favorite Disney water adventures without having to worry about it getting wet.

Customizable

The fourth benefit of the MagicBand+ is that it is customizable and includes exclusive designs for Annual Passholders.

This means that you can choose a design that represents your personality, and you can also get access to exclusive designs that are only available to Annual Passholders.

So, if you are an Annual Passholder, be sure to take advantage of this great feature!

Unlocks Your Room

Getting a MagicBand+ also means that you can use it to unlock your Disney Resort hotel room door. This is a great feature for those who want the convenience of not having to carry around keys.

As the band comes with haptic and gesture recognition, it will also provide an extra layer of security for your room.

Tap To Enter

Another great feature of the MagicBand+ is that you can tap to enter theme parks with valid park admission.

This means that you don’t have to fumble around with tickets or cards, and you can just quickly tap your band to enter the park.

Check-in At Lightning Lane

If you are visiting Walt Disney World during a busy time, you will definitely appreciate the ability to check in at Lightning Lane entrances and virtual queues.

With this feature, you can avoid long lines and get to the fun faster.

Tap to pay

The MagicBand+ also allows you to tap to pay for purchases at the parks or your Disney Resort hotel. This is a great feature for those who want to be able to make purchases without having to carry cash or credit cards.

Links With Disney PhotoPass

Finally, the MagicBand+ also links your Disney PhotoPass photos. This means that you can easily view and share your photos with family and friends after your trip.

What are the pros and cons of MagicBand+?

The pros of MagicBand+ are that it is convenient, waterproof, customizable, and secure. The cons of MagicBand+ are that it is not available for free and comes at a cost of $34.99.

So, if you are planning on taking advantage of all the features that MagicBand+ has to offer, then it is definitely worth the cost.

However, if you are only planning on using it for a few features, then you may want to consider other options.

Are Disney MagicBands Worth It?

There are many things to consider when determining whether the Disney MagicBand+ is worth the money.

The main factor is what benefits the MagicBand+ provides and how important those benefits are to the individual.

The MagicBand+ provides access to all four theme parks, hotel rooms, and can be used for interactive quests and games.

It also uses vibrations and gesture recognition to provide a more immersive experience.

Additionally, the MagicBand+ is rechargeable, and haptic technology lets you know when you’re close to a statue.

For individuals who frequently visit Disney theme parks, the MagicBand+ provides a convenient way to access all of the parks while making it difficult to lose track of tickets.

The interactive quests and games provide a fun way to explore the parks and add an extra layer of immersion to the experience.

The haptic technology is also beneficial as it can help guide individuals to specific locations within the park.

Overall, it’s up to the individual to decide if the benefits of the MagicBand+ are worth the money.

For some, the convenience and added features may be worth it, while others may not find it necessary.

In my opinion, the Disney MagicBand+ is definitely worth the money. For me, being able to access all four theme parks with one band is extremely convenient and helpful, especially when I’m traveling with family or friends.
