However, this doesn’t mean that you can use a Bloomingdale’s gift card at Macy’s or vice versa.

Does Macy’s Take Bloomingdales’s Gift Cards?
As of 2022, Macy’s doesn’t accept Bloomingdale’s gift cards. So, if you have a Bloomingdale’s gift card, you can’t use it at any of Macy’s locations for in-store and online purchases.
As per Macy’s gift card policy, customers can use its gift cards at any Macy’s store location in the United States, as well as on Macys.com.
So, if you have a Macy’s gift card and want to shop online, you can use it on the official online portal. However, be sure to check Macy’s website for any exclusions that may apply.
Gift Card Policy
Despite both stores being owned by Macy’s Inc., Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s gift cards cannot be used interchangeably.
If you have a gift card for one store, simply use it at the corresponding store – you can’t use a Bloomingdale’s gift card at Macy’s, or vice versa as the gift card policies of both stores don’t allow their customers to do so.

Currently, Bloomingdale’s gift cards are sold at other places like Harris Teeter in denominations ranging from $25 to $200.
The only thing you are restricted from doing is using the card at third-party retailers including Macy’s!
And also, you are not allowed to redeem your Bloomingdale’s gift card for cash.
Using Your Macy’s Gift Card
As of now, Bloomingdale’s doesn’t take Macy’s gift cards as a form of payment. So, basically, you can use your Macy’s gift card to pay for shopping at Macy’s online and in-store.
Same as Bloomingdale’s gift cards, Macy’s gift cards (eGift cards & Plastic cards) too come in amounts ranging between $25 and $100!
Once bought, you can redeem them at your nearest Macy’s or on Macy’s app or online on macys.com for almost everything Macy’s sells.
But you cannot use your Macy’s gift card at Bloomingdale’s stores nor you can use them to purchase other gift cards.
At Macy’s, customers cannot use Bloomingdale’s gift cards, and at Bloomingdale’s, customers cannot use Macy’s gift cards. So, if you have a Bloomingdale’s gift card, don’t bother trying to use it at Macy’s and vice versa. This also applies to both physical and eGift cards of both brands. However, it’s best to contact a store associate at your local Macy’s or Bloomingdale’s to confirm this information.
